Hi my names Lynsey and i was chosen by UK Mystery shopper and was lucky enough to get £100 vouchers to use at a Primark store. The store i chose was Primark in the Crompton place shopping centre in Bolton. My first thought was to go at weekend but it would be all to easy to find critisism while wading through the aftermath of clothes just thrown in big messy piles and all mixed up from customers (if youve ever been to a Primark of a weekend you will know exactly what i mean haha) sooo not having that genetic gene most women have which makes them love shopping i decided to go in the afternoon during the week.
The outside of the store was nice and clean with no litter or rubbish. It had a full glass front (nice and clean) with a small range of mens, womans, and mens summer clothing on display. Walking into the shop i immediatly noticed how tidy the store was. The floor was clean and clear of any rubbish or clothes and this was reflected throughout the store. The store was well layed out with clear individual sections, womens, mens, homeware so was easy enough to navigate your way around the store (although the childrens area wasn't as well defined as the other areas and was kind of hidden in the middle). Although the areas were defined well the aisle inbetween some items were quite narrow not giving much space for people to pass each other easily. Each area had a member of staff generally keeping the area tidy, stocked up, refolding clothes and putting items back in size order so it was really easy to find the size you were after. Display stands and individual items were clearly labeled with sizes and prices and all well stocked in a good variety of sizes. In each section they had reduced rails which were easy to find although i prefer sale items to be ordered in size rather than items (nothing worse than seeing an item you love, trawling through them all to realise they havnt got your size boo haha). I decided to go to try a few items on in the changing rooms. The lady was pleasent enough, smiling and polite but the only thing i would say is before she dealt with my she went on to finish what she was doing hanging some clothes on hangers and dissapeared around the corner to hang them and it would of been nice if she had popped the items down and dealt with me first. They was no shortage of changing boothes with plenty of hooks and railes for your items and mirrorered on both sides so you can see your items from the front and back which i thought was a great idea and the women (or men) can see for themselves if their "bum looks big in this" hahaa. The cubicle i was in was slightly littered on the floor with balls of fluff gathered in the corners and under the seat but i had a peek at some of the others on the way out which were clear of litter. I for the life of my couldn't find boys jog pants and it was getting on in time so I approached a member of staff and said "Excuse me what time do you close?". Her reply was quite sharp and abrupt replying "At halfpast". She barely even made eye contact with me. This left me feeling to uncomfortable to ask her where I can find the boys joggers as felt like she didn't really engage and left me feeling like I was an hindrance. They were no other staff around at this time as all the other floor staff had been called to work the checkouts so I decided to forget about the jog pants and proceeded to the checkout.
They were a few people in front of me but got still got served almost immediately as they were plenty of staff on at the service tills. I was served by a young lady who was very polite. She put all the items through the till and packed them in bags.I had a moment of "oh no I forgot to bring bags!" but it was alright as Primark still provide their bags free of charge, phew! well done Primark! Normally Primark bags don't last very long in my experience and end up a ripped wet soggy mess in our rainy climate but luckily it was sunny (for once) the bags were really quite heavy and I really didn't think they'd last the walk across town but they were very strong and didn't let me down woohoo!. While at the checkout they were issues with my gift vouchers not scanning (my heart skipped a few beats at this point while I held my breath hahaa) but the young girl politely explained its probably just the machine, proceeded to type in all the individual numbers in the machine and they went though fine. Overall for someone who is void of the shopping gene and avoid clothes shopping at all cost haha I found my experience to be quite pleasant and after this positive experience I will definitely go shopping at Primark again soon. The items I bought all seem to be good quality at a great price and of the items we have worn and washed so far they are as good as before I washed them and have had no problems. My £100 went a long way in Primark so I would definitely say I got good value for money. One thing I would say is I thought the staff could of been a little more engaging and enthusiastic but in their defence it was a really hot day that day and the store air conditioning wasn't very good at all and it was a relief to get out of the store where it was cooler. It wasn't nice as a customer shopping in such a hot athmosphere never mind working there all day on your feet. It was clear to see the heat was affecting the staff looking all hot and flustered. Thankyou Uk Mystery Shopper for giving me this opportunity it was a great experience!
First of all I would like to say thank you to UK Mystery Shopper for giving me the opportunity to do a mystery shop on boohoo.com.
I spent a great deal of time browsing the boohoo.com website, and found they have such a wide range of items at great prices, and a style to suit every type of person. From swim wear and cute little dresses in the holiday shop, to big furry coats and winter boots they really do have it all. Being a uni student, the perfect section for me is the boohoo night range. Their boohoo night range is packed full of little black dresses, hot mini skirts and so many pretty bralets and crop tops to get you looking your best on your night out! Most of the outfits I have already bought for my freshers week are from this section of the shop, and I added to my freshers outfit collection with this mystery shop.
After a while being extremely indecisive and not being able to make my mind up on the outfits I wanted the most, I finally decided. I purchased the Sally Cut Out Bralet, Jane Strappy Front Bodycon Dress, Catherine Scuba Plunge Cross Bralet, Beau Lace Up Side Aysmetric Mini Skirt, Talea Scalloped Hem Monochrome Mini Skirt and he Honoria Pocket Front Contrast Rib Mini Skirt. Some of these items were even in the sale meaning I purchased items from as little as £3, which is another reason I love this shop. They have so many discounts going on all the time, and the quality is still perfect. At my time of purchase, there was on offer on for next day delivery postage which was also really cheap, which I chose.
As promised, the next day the delivery man knocked on the door and there was my new purchases! Boohoo.com as a company are very on the ball with sending their orders out as soon as possible, so there is never any stress when you need to order a last minute outfit for the spontaneous night out at the weekend! The quality of the clothes were spot on. The items of clothing are always so comfy, and fit to the size you ordered. I often find in other stores that I’m constantly buying different sizes even though the clothes fit the same and are from the same store, whereas from boohoo.com I can always order the same size and guarantee it will fit. However, if the items do not fit they offer a very efficient returns service, which is also totally free. So if the items do not suit or it your body shape, then they have no problem with you sending them back and they will refund you usually within a week, a lot faster than other stores. Overall, my experience with boohoo.com on this occasion was once again spot on, and I will definitely be ordering again as they are one of my favourite, reliable websites. So when you next need a fresh new wardrobe, I highly recommend you have a little browse at the stock they have on offer!
I was selected to mystery shop for Boux Avenue, I decided to shop at Boux Avenue in Victoria Square Belfast (Northern Ireland). The store itself was clean, tidy and well presented. The shop front was well decorated, the windows were spotless and invitingly lit. The window displays themselves showing a good variety of styles and colours, alongside bold advertisements declaring their seasonal sale. The pavement outside was well swept and litter free.
Upon entering the shop, the shelves were well stocked..there wasn't an empty rail or drawer in sight. Sale and new items were clearly marked for potential customers. The only downside to this being that a few of the sale item trays were a little messy, therefore making some sizes hard where to find. Nothing unusual when it comes to the so called “bargain basement”. I did not need to ask a member of staff for assistance as one promptly approached me when I seemed to be having trouble finding what I wanted. She was quickly able to point me in the direction of the size and style I was after, explaining all the current offers and letting me know the cheapest way to buy a set or multiples (e.g. Knickers 3 for £12).
As I browsed the rails, several other girls checked on my at intervals, I was never left in need of assistance. After I had assessed the shop interior and stock, I selected a few items both from the sale rack and the full priced items before proceeding to the fitting rooms. These (again) were also very clean and very well maintained. The carpets soft and clean under foot. Inside each room there is a concierge button with an intercom and several light settings to view your soon to be purchased under. A few items I picked didn't fit me quite right, so I pressed the concierge button for assistance. The girl who came to help was friendly and helpful, bringing me other sizes in the products I wanted to try, as well as a few other styles she thought I might be interested in. She checked the fit of all my items and confirmed that I was wearing the correct size and style for my frame. After trying them on I selected my items and proceeded to the till.
The queue was of medium length but was very fast moving, with other girls coming to help as the queue grew in length. In the end, however, I only had to wait for a few minutes. The girl who served me was very cheerful and asked me if I wanted my items gift wrapped or just bagged. Chatting away to me about my purchased items and how to store them while folding my items and bagging them.
Overall my visit to Boux Avenue was very pleasant and stress free. All of the girls were lovely, attentive and well turned out, the shop floor was very clean and well cared for without a peck of litter in sight. The girls recommended items were fabulous and exactly what I was after, she knew exactly what style and fit I needed, even guessed the styles correctly. I even ended up buying more than a few of the items she suggested! Honesty here was definitely paramount to all my purchases when it came to if certain items suited me. However I cannot fault them, giving them a solid 5/5. I shall be back Boux Avenue!
